Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny, sleepy town. The people who aren't familiar with this term tend to think there is a separate island in the west of Montreal However, in reality this part of West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the Lachine city. Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. But this isn't the truth. Brugel was raised in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. The first goal she had was to be an actor, However, following a dramatic growth spurt her partners weren't able to dance with her. In an interview with Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels, I'm 6 feet and 1 inch." When I surpassed my male counterpart then I slowed down. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In Brugel's case it was because of the advice by her drama instructor at her high school which pushed her to take the step she required. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the annual school production. She tried out and eventually got the lead of Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. In the past 20 years, Brugel's work been seen on the small and large screen. She gained the most attention when she won her part as Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was only seen on a few occasions in the first season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the only Canadian participant.
